Magic City Mural Festival murals
Located in the alleyway behind 5512 1st Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35212
Welcome! We’re glad you’ve found, “The Way”– a special placemaking project here in the heart of Historic Woodlawn. The murals around you are products of The Magic City Mural Festival, founded and organized by Meghan McCollum (Blank Space Bham) and Jason Avery (Cottage Noir and Woodlawn Neighborhood Association President) starting back in 2019 as a collaborative effort to activate a bit of underutilized space here in the neighborhood.
These beautiful works of art are brought to you by incredible artists from around the country who came to Woodlawn to help honor the story of this place alongside the people that call it home. Each work was intentionally planned and created in partnership with community stakeholders.
The murals featured around you today speak to THE WAY artists and the community came together to reclaim and transform this alleyWAY for the better.
The Magic City Mural Fest was made possible by the support of our presenting sponsors,
